Other nicknames: Chika's Pink/Chika's Blue.
SOURCE: Chika's Homepage.
There are blue and pink variants, and they seem to be related to Chiruchiru, but I don't know which came first.
Update 10/28/25:
I have located the source for both Chirol and Chiruchiru! Both were made by Chika, a housewife from Osaka, and distributed via Chika's Homepage. Sadly, it seems that her original gallery has not been archived. Her usage rules (Japanese) were basically: do not redistribute, make sure to link back, and comment on the page with a link to your own site if possible.
Unfortunately, westerners have long ignored untranslated guidelines like this, and her work ended up across the English-speaking internet without attribution.
I want to respect Chika's guidelines myself, but the fact is that Chirol and Chiruchiru are already out there and have been for over a decade. At this point, I feel the best way to respect the artist is to clearly credit her.

Who is this guy? Was someone inspired by Chirol? Is it an actual edit of an animation I haven't found, or is it original?
